Over a century of winemaking tradition
Winery
Our legacy begins in our impressive centuries-old underground cellars, carved into the rock over 200 years ago 10 metres below ground. There, in a naturally stable environment of constant temperature and humidity, our wines rest and are refined, just as they have been for generations.
This historic heritage is complemented by a commitment to innovation: modern, climate-controlled facilities where every stage of the winemaking, ageing and bottling process is carried out with the utmost care and cleanliness.
We work with small-capacity stainless steel tanks (from 8,000 to 30,000 litres), allowing us to vinify each grape variety separately and to ensure meticulous selection according to quality, vineyard or varietal. In addition, we use concrete tanks lined with epoxy resin, perfectly suited both for fermentation and wine storage.
Our barrel cellar comprises approximately 2,000 Bordeaux barrels (225 litres) made from oak of different origins, as well as barrels of varying sizes to add roundness and a distinctive character to our wines, including 500-litre barrels and foudres of 2,000 and 5,000 litres. Within them, our wines age slowly, developing the aromas and flavours imparted by barrel ageing while preserving the primary aromas of each variety, resulting in wines of great finesse and elegance, with outstanding ageing.
Our commitment to excellence and sustainability is endorsed by ISO 9001:2008 Certification, which has guaranteed the quality of all our processes and products since 2004, the installation of photovoltaic panels to improve energy efficiency, and our ongoing efforts to reduce CO₂ emissions across all operations. Furthermore, since 2021 we have been members of the Basque Country Tourism Code of Ethics, incorporating social responsibility and environmental and economic sustainability into all our processes and wine tourism activities.
The same passion can be felt throughout the winery: to create unique wines that bring together history, innovation and quality.
Underground Cellars
Deep underground, more than 10 meters below the surface, lie our century-old cellars —true treasures with over 200 years of history. Here, nature itself maintains the perfect temperature and humidity all year round: an ancestral form of sustainability that ensures the ideal resting place for our wines.
Barrels
In our aging cellars, wine finds its time and its place. Oak barrels of diverse origins and toasts patiently cradle each vintage, allowing the aromas, nuances, and elegance characteristic of Rioja Alavesa wines to develop slowly, endowing them with depth, character, and remarkable aging potential.
Bottle Cellars
The journey continues in our bottle cellars, where each wine rests for as long as necessary to reach its fullest expression. Our Gran Reserva wines are aged according to tradition, hand-stacked in stone niches, while the rest are stored in metal cages to ensure perfect order and care. A meticulous process that guarantees every bottle reaches you at its perfect moment.
